- Exports to the US were $8.32 billion in August 2026, up 21.83% from a year earlier (provisional data).
- April-August 2026 exports to the US grew 6.17% to $42.79 billion.
- The jump partly reflects a weak August 2025, when US tariffs on many Indian goods hit 50%.
Commerce ministry data released on 15 September 2026 showed India's goods exports to the US rose 21.83% to $8.32 billion in August 2026, from $6.83 billion in August 2025. The US stayed India's largest export market. Part of the jump came from a low base: in August 2025, as US tariffs on many Indian goods reached 50%, exports had fallen from $8.01 billion in July, Moneycontrol noted. For April-August, exports to the US grew a slower 6.17%.
Indian sellers are still growing in the US despite the 10% duty, but slower than in other markets: India's total goods exports rose 26.12% in August. Imports from the US jumped 65.78% to $5.97 billion in the month.
